So what are emotions? Well lets see emotions are a mixture of thoughts, beliefs plus feelings or physical sensations in the body together they form emotions.
The next thing you need to know about emotions is because they're a fusion of thoughts and physical sensations in the body, you've got to learn the way to do them. First off how do you learn the way to do the physical sensations well a large amount of the time as a baby you are exposed to different environmental stimulus like, water, hot, cold, fabric materials to name a couple all of them stimulate physical sensations in the babies body. An alternate way is a baby will pick up on what ever emotional state its parents are in and go into the same emotional state as the parent which has a physical sensation to it.
So how do you learn the way to do these different emotions well and what to call them? As a baby or child you are simply a bundle of feeling or physical sensations. Then as you are doing something like being fed ice-cream we could say, mummy is exclaiming tasty, good, then something clicks and you associate those words with that physical sensation or feelings this is how you learn how to associate the two to form an emotion. As you get older you add more words and meanings to these varied physical sensations or feelings and they become very complex, you also learn the way to do them better over time as you practice them.
Thenext thing to realise is perhaps because you've got to find out how to do both, when you learn the way to do them and you practice them you get better at some of them while not so good at others. That is how we get some individuals who are depressed, anxious, contented, angry as their main emotional state they have just practiced that state more and have got very good at it doing that emotional state.
Now that we realize there is a physical component to emotions, we will be able to also now say that every emotion that you've ever experienced in your life also gets stored in your body, these emotions are also anchored to all your diverse memories too.
If you think about any memory from the past you can actually feel the same as you did the first time that you experienced that event. Go on try it out think about a very bad memory and identify the emotions that you feel now when you do this! Well that is what you felt at that event during the past when that event occurred the first time, that is the only possible way you can tell me what you felt so many years ago. If you could not access the emotion again you would just have a memory, with no emotion and you would not be able to tell me how you used to feel. Naturally we have memories like this as well where we have no real visible emotions attached.
Now we know we store emotions in our body and we also practice these emotions well and you know over a period that you can basically increase the amount of different emotions that you store in your body, as an example depressed folks have stored in their body over time so much sadness/depression they are awfully unhappy. Also folks that are interested in smoking hypnotherapy also attach the behaviour of smoking to different emotions like anxiety, so when they're anxious they get trigger off into smoking, the emotions make a powerful trigger to tie it all together.
What can be done to help these people? Well we will actually remove the emotions and feelings from the memories and the body. When you do this it can be very profound and will have an enormous effect on the individual involved. Once this is done you stop them from practicing this emotion permanently so they do not create anymore in the future and any behaviours attached or triggered by the emotion are eliminated too.
